The Detroit Pistons’ 2017-18 NBA schedule was released earlier this evening. We’ll break down what you need to know for the coming season.
Moments ago, the Detroit Pistons’ schedule for the 2017-18 season was released. You can check it out here on Pistons.com. The Pistons will open the season at home against the Charlotte Hornets on October 18th, officially beginning the Little Caesars Arena era.
As discussed earlier, back-to-backs are a big issue for the Pistons, particularly when it comes to Reggie Jackson and his ability to be effective on the floor. This coming season, they will play 14 such scenarios. The biggest issue in any back-to-back is always the second game, also known as SEGABABA. We’ll break these down.

The Pistons have two SEGABABA in each month. In October, those two games will be against the New York Knicks and the Golden State Warriors. In both cases, they will be going from one road game to a second road game, so both ends of those will be road games. In November, the Pistons will play the Sacramento Kings on the back half of a home-home back-to-back, and then will play the Cleveland Cavaliers in a road-home back-to-back.
In December, both such games will be of the road-road variety, against the Philadelphia 76ers and the Indiana Pacers. In January, the first will be a road-home against the Houston Rockets, followed by a road-home matchup against the Cavs. In February, the first will be a road-home game against the New Orleans Pelicans, followed by a road-road against the Toronto Raptors.
In March, both SEGABABA will be road-road, against the Miami Heat and the Phoenix Suns. In April, the first will be a road-road against the Brooklyn Nets, and the final SEGABABA will be a road home against the Toronto Raptors.
