The Detroit Pistons are likely done making offseason moves. Now that the dust has settled a bit, what was the worst move they made this offseason?

The Detroit Pistons have made some moves this offseason, for better or for worse. Here are those moves.

Additions:

Avery Bradley (traded for)
Langston Galloway (signed)
Luke Kennard (drafted)

Subtractions:

Marcus Morris (traded away)
Kentavious Caldwell-Pope (Pistons’ renounced rights, and walked in FA)
Darrun Hilliard (traded)

Show of hands, who thought Caldwell-Pope and Morris would be the Piston starters that would not be on the team next season?

I know PistonPowered paper connoisseur Shameek Mohile had no idea. (Side note: Sham had to literally eat a printed out tweet, due to a bet he made, which included that he would eat a tweet if any of the Pistons’ core players were moved. There’s a lesson here somewhere).

With the totality of the offseason on the table, what was the worst move?

For me, this one is easy. It’s the signing of Langston Galloway.

Let me explain. I am excited about Galloway, in that he’s a good player who has a chance to help the team. However, by signing Galloway, the Pistons were not able to offer Caldwell-Pope a max contract.

An oversight by Stan Van Gundy? I think so. Had Van Gundy realized the ramifications of signing Galloway before finalizing a deal, I am sure that Galloway would have landed somewhere else, and that the Pistons would still have Caldwell-Pope.

Of course, I have no way of proving that, and I doubt Van Gundy will ever admit it.
