The Westgate Las Vegas released their annual NBA win totals on Tuesday. We’ll take a look at how the sportsbook views the Detroit Pistons.
The Westgate Las Vegas released their annual NBA win totals over/unders on Tuesday. Some of these projections are a bit optimistic, but respectable number of these over/unders look pretty sharp, including those of the Detroit Pistons.
The Pistons check in with 38.5 wins, ninth-best in the Eastern Conference. With the limited info we currently have on Reggie Jackson’s knee, that seems like a conservative but fair line. If Jackson’s knee doesn’t hold up, the under seems somewhat appealing.
Of course, if Jackson does perform to the level we saw in 2015-16, 38.5 will turn out to be a low number indeed. It’s hard to forecast such a rosy outcome this far out from the season, though, when Jackson will likely not even be at full strength by the start of training camp.
The Westgate released more odds as well. They released championship odds, in which the Pistons do not fare well. When the initial title odds came out on May 28th, the Pistons were 200/1 to win the 2017-18 NBA championship. As of Tuesday, the Westgate gives them 300/1 odds. That’s 22nd in the NBA.
The Westgate has the Pistons at +130 to make the playoffs and -150 to miss the playoffs. This means that betting $130 on the Pistons making the playoffs wins you $100, and betting $100 on them to miss the playoffs gets you $150.

Other notable win totals from the Westgate includes the Boston Celtics at 56.5, the Cleveland Cavaliers at 53.5, the Philadelphia 76ers at 42.5, and all teams making the playoffs in a bad Eastern Conference with records of 42.5 wins or better.
