Members of the local media got to tour Little Caesars Arena and got a look at just about everything. Except, that is, the Detroit Pistons’ locker room. We’ve got the first look right here.
Earlier on Wednesday members of Detroit’s local media got a first hand look at the state-of-the-art Little Caesars Arena. While not quite finished, it’s pretty close, and the Detroit Red Wings-facing elements of the arena are just about in place. The Detroit Pistons’ aspects are not quite there, but we’ve been provided renderings of what to expect.
Below is a rendering of the locker room itself:
The Pistons’ home locker room is 1,250 square feet and is among the largest in the NBA. It features 12-foot high ceilings and 18 full-size lockers with custom millwork, USB and power capability. As you can see at the back of the room, it also features a 98-inch touch screen interactive multimedia wall for film breakdown and preparation.
You may also note that Tobias Harris‘ locker is beside Andre Drummond‘s and across from Ish Smith, if you note such things.
Below is the players’ lounge:
The players’ lounge is about 1,150 square feet and can be used by players for pre and post-game meals, and has seating configuration set up for meeting space.
You can see the main event below–the training room.
The training room features a whole-body cryotherapy system, useful in quicker recovery after training and games. It can be used to hasten the healing process after games particularly in preparation for coming flights or back-to-back games, and the whole thing takes about three minutes.
Next: Best and worst case scenarios for Andre Drummond
The Detroit Pistons’ locker room and supporting facilities are among the biggest and most state-of-the-art in the NBA, and we’re looking forward to getting a real-life look at them, but for the time being this will do.
