The Detroit Pistons are one of the best teams in the NBA. While a lot has gone right, who has been the biggest key to the Detroit Pistons success thus far?

The Detroit Pistons are currently tied for first place in the Eastern Conference with the Boston Celtics at 10-3, though it’s so early in the season that it really doesn’t matter.

For example, the Cleveland Cavaliers are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference.

Does anyone see that trend continuing?

My point is, it’s easy to try to temper expectations with such few games to go off of.

That isn’t to take anything away from the Pistons. The Pistons have been awesome, and I think this team is for real.

For now, lets enjoy the Pistons record and try to figure out why the team is so good after being so bad just one season ago.

So which player has been most vital to the Pistons’ success so far?

My take? It’s got to be Tobias Harris.

Through 13 games, Tobias Harris is averaging 20.1 points, 5 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and he’s been incredibly efficient shooting 48.1% from the floor, 50.6% from three, and 90.5% from the free throw line.

Reggie Jackson has returned to 2015 form. Andre Drummond looks better than he ever has. Plus, the Pistons’ bench is deeper than its ever been in the Stan Van Gundy era.

There’s a lot of things to point towards in regards to the Pistons hot start, but no one has been more integral to the team’s success than Tobias Harris.
