The Detroit Pistons will take on the Washington Wizards this Friday in a somewhat important game with the Pistons being up just two games on the Wizards, and a half a game up on the third place Cleveland Cavaliers. The Pistons will get a little help tonight, however, as John Wall will not be playing due to a knee injury.
The Detroit Pistons will be taking on the Washington Wizards this Friday, an Eastern Conference opponent who figures to be in the mix of potential playoff teams.
Any time you play inter-conference games against playoff-caliber teams its a big game
Luckily for the Pistons, the Wizards will not be at full-strength, missing its best player and team leader John Wall.
"Washington Wizards star John Wall will not play for approximately two weeks as he deals with discomfort and inflammation in his left knee, the team announced Saturday."
Terrible news for Wall and the Wizards, but it’s a nice break for the Pistons who are in the midst of playing nine of 11 games on the road, with a second game of a back-to-back coming up tomorrow against the Boston Celtics, and four out of the next five games on the road.
Oh yeah, four of which games are against Eastern Conference playoff contenders–at Washington Wizards, at Boston Celtics, at Philadelphia 76ers, at Milwaukee Bucks.
In case you were wondering, the non-road game sandwiched in between these games is against the San Antonio Spurs which will not be a cakewalk game.
Needless to say, this is a great opportunity for the Pistons to get a win in a tough stretch of the schedule.
If the Pistons are somehow able to finish this stretch of games with a winning record, it will need to do so by winning games like this.

These next few games will be very telling for the Pistons.
