The Detroit Pistons lose their second straight to the Philadelphia 76ers, 108-103.

Saturday’s game started solid, became frustrating, returned competitive, and ended heartbreaking for the Detroit Pistons.

More from PistonPowered

After Detroit led early in the first quarter, 21-15, the 76ers returned from their timeout and dominated the Pistons up until halftime with a 63-47 lead.

Once the second half was under way, Detroit slowly chipped away Philadelphia’s lead and tied the ball game at 80 by the end of the third quarter.

Early in the fourth, the Pistons captured a two point lead though were unable to hold on and close the game from there: falling to the 76ers, 108-103.

Even though it was another frustrating performance, Detroit did show fight and will during their third quarter rally.

Leading the charge was Reggie Jackson and Tobias Harris on the offensive end accompanied by Stanley Johnson and Andre Drummond on the defensive end.

To finish the game, Jackson and Harris led the team in scoring with 25 and 27 points along with another 14 from Drummond.

As Andre Drummond’s matchup with Joel Embbid was a focal point for many fans tuning in Saturday night, Drummond faired well against Philadelphia’s big man.

Even though Embiid finished with 25 points, Drummond defended well and forced Embiid to numerous turnovers as well as an inefficient 7-18 shooting performance.

After the game, beefs were thrown aside as Embiid and Drummond met up for for a brief, smile filled conversation.

As for Detroit dropping the past two games, the team has shown incapable of playing tough, energetic ball for 48 minutes straight. In Washington, it was the second half that hindered Detroit while in Philidelphia, it was the first.

Detroit will look to bounce back and improve upon their 14-8 record at San Antonio Monday night.
