In what was an odd and frustrating game, the Detroit Pistons lost to the Denver Nuggets 103-84 at home. The loss makes seven straight for the Pistons.

In what was the most head-scratching game in recent history, the Detroit Pistons dropped their seventh straight game to the Denver Nuggets, 103-84.

If the Pistons are looking for blame, they should look into a mirror. The continuously frustrating squad finished with 20 turnovers and leading scorer Tobias Harris finished without making a single shot.

The oddities of the game began when news broke that Reggie Bullock would start at the small forward position for the Detroit Pistons over incumbent starter, Stanley Johnson. It was Reggie Bullock’s ninth start as a member of the Pistons and his first of the year.

Although Bullock was adequate on the offensive end, scoring six points, and showed flashes of competence on the defensive end, it was not enough to contain the likes of Wilson Chandler and Trey Lyles.

Speaking of Stanley Johnson, he was benched throughout the entire first half of the game and finally entered into action halfway through the third quarter. He has struggled since a hip flexor injury earlier in the season, and many have questioned his fit on the roster (including myself).

Meanwhile, Andre Drummond was completely outplayed by Mason Plumlee. Drummond finished with five points, 10 rebounds, and three assists, while Plumlee finished with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

Not every player had a clunker of a game, however. Boban Marjanovic, who single-handedly kept the game close in the first half finished with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Langston Galloway led the way for the Pistons, scoring a season-high 18 points.

The Pistons had a great chance to win going into the matchup with the Nuggets missing their two star players, Paul Millsap and Nikola Jokic.

The Pistons try to right the ship once again as they take on the Atlanta Hawks on the road in their next matchup on Thursday night.
