The Detroit Pistons announced this morning the official name and logo of their NBA 2K E-League affiliate. The team is set to debut May 2018.

Earlier this morning, the Detroit Pistons officially announced their NBA 2K E-League name and logo. The team will be called “Pistons Gaming Team (GT)” and will debut in May 2018.

Charlie Metzger, Chief Revenue and Marketing Officer for the Detroit Pistons announced the decision this morning.

"“As an inaugural team of the NBA 2K League, we look forward to launching our season in May 2018, developing a brand behind Pistons GT and expanding our reach in the gaming community.”"

The Pistons GT logo (shown below) was created by RARE Design and incorporates “automotive piston imagery into a progressive design that is representative of the toughness, attitude and hardcore spirit of the region and its basketball history.”

The Pistons are one of 17 NBA franchises that will be participating in the professional e-sports league featuring the best NBA 2K players in the world.
