Pistons Look for Third Consecutive Win Today
By Sham Mohile
The Detroit Pistons look for third consecutive win at home versus the 12th place Orlando Magic. Tip-off is set for 4:00 PM EST.
The Detroit Pistons (16-13) have had a season that has made constantly turned the stomachs of the collective Detroit Basketball fan base.
After having a brilliant start to the season with featured wins against the Golden State Warriors and the Minnesota Timberwolves, the Pistons sputtered with head-scratching losses against a brutal stretch of projected playoff teams – Boston Celtics, Philadelphia 76ers, etc.
Fittingly, the Pistons rebounded well. Following a relieving win against that Atlanta Hawks on the road, the Pistons won their fourth SEGABABA (second game of a back-to-back) on Friday with a signature win against the surging Indiana Pacers led by Most Improved Player front-runner, Victor Oladipo.

Today, the Pistons have a matinee matchup against the 12th place Orlando Magic (11-19). The Magic have lost four straight games, including a 95-88 loss at the hands of the Portland Trailblazers.
The battered Orlando Magic will be without forward Aaron Gordon, Evan Fournier, and Terrence Ross. Both Arron Afflalo and Jonathan Isaac are questionable. The Pistons will be without Jon Leuer, while Avery Bradley is questionable.
The starting lineup has been in flux over the past few games for the Pistons. The Pistons will start Reggie Jackson, Andre Drummond, Tobias Harris, but the other two spots are up for grabs. Reggie Bullock has adequately stepped into the role that struggling Stanley Johnson has left with his efficient offense and above-average defense, so he’ll likely get the start once more.
Rookie Luke Kennard got the start against the Indiana Pacers on Friday. Although he performed well, scoring nine points, dishing out four assists, and grabbing five rebounds, Kennard was ultimately replaced with Langston Galloway down the stretch primarily because of Kennard’s lack of defense. The final spot will be determined shortly before game time.
The tip-off at Little Caesars Arena is set for 4:00 PM EST. The game will be broadcast live on Fox Sports Detroit.
