The Detroit Pistons have been good this year–for the most part. That means that Santa Clause should be bringing lots of goodies for the team this Christmas. Seeing as how Santa can do anything, what should the Pistons ask him for?

The Detroit Pistons have been pretty good this year. The team is winning, they are getting along, and they don’t have any arrests this year (to my knowledge), though there is one ex-Piston that may be getting coal in his stocking this year.

Here at PistonPowered we try to remain festive. If you do too, you should check out our Thanksgiving Day, “What should the Pistons be thankful for” post.

Ok back now back to Christmas.

Pistons fans, what should our beloved team ask Santa for for Christmas?

My take?

Since the Pistons can ask for anything, it should ask for a superstar–and it should ask for the same the next few years if it doesn’t get it.

In the past, the Pistons’ Christmas list was a bit more simple. The team could’ve asked for competent coaching, or playoff appearance. However, the Pistons have both of those things, and should make the playoffs again this season.

But with the roster made up the way it is, the odds of winning a championship anytime soon are slim.

However, the addition of a superstar could certainly change that assuming the Pistons got to keep its core pieces.

Here’s the problem. For Santa to deliver a superstar there has to be one available and the NBA landscape doesn’t appear positioned to fulfill the request.

This might be a pending request that Santa tries to fill for the next few Christmases.

In the meantime, the Pistons will try to be as good as they can be so it doesn’t fall on the naughty list.
