The Detroit Pistons recently picked up five-foot nine Detroit native Kahlil (Kay) Ameer Felder Jr. on a two-way contract.

Kay Felder was Atlanta’s second round pick in 2016, going 54th overall. Felder was traded to the Cavaliers later on Draft Night. He was in and out of the developmental league his rookie year, and was eventually traded to the Hawks, along with many other assets. The Hawks immediately waived Felder. On October 16th, 2017, the Bulls claimed him off waivers. He was then waived two months later, on December 19th.

Out of the 56 games he’s played in the NBA, he’s managed to average just 3.9 points per game, 1.4 assists, a rebound, all in 9 minutes per game. His three-point shooting is sub 30 percent and his field goal percentage is .366 percent. He hasn’t amounted to much in the league yet, and his five-foot nine-inch frame hasn’t helped. But Stan Van Gundy has had players outperforming their highest expectations all year. So if Felder does manage to score some playing time, maybe we’ll see him manage his own version of a miracle.
