Reggie Bullock was involved in a car accident Sunday morning on his way to practice. Bullock is ok but checked in to the hospital as a precaution according to Rod Beard of the Detroit News.
The Detroit Pistons cannot catch a break.
According to Rod Beard of the Detroit News, Stan Van Gundy called Reggie Bullock’s car accident Sunday morning “minor.” Bullock’s status going forward is unclear at this time. “He didn’t practice; he’s traveling but what he’ll be able to do, I don’t know,” Van Gundy said.
Bullock’s car was hit on his way to the practice facility in Auburn Hills and the other driver took off.
The details of Bullock’s injuries are not specific, but Van Gundy said he is “banged up” and suffering from back spasms.
Bullock had 21 points including three 3-pointers in the Pistons’ 99-83 win over the Chicago Bulls Friday.
Reggie Bullock’s car accident is the latest in a series of unfortunate events for the team.
Injuries to Stanley Johnson (back) and Dwight Buycks (left ankle sprain) leave the Pistons depleted heading into an important six-game road trip. Johnson has returned to practice but Buycks continues to sit out.
Furthermore, the future of Reggie Jackson (ankle) remains unclear. It seems every week Jackson is another week away from full participation in practice.
The Pistons will rely heavily on role players like Luke Kennard and James Ennis III going forward. Their next game is Tuesday in Utah against the Jazz.
