The Pistons win on the road vs the Brooklyn Nets, 108-96 on a Sunday night of basketball where Reggie Jackson scored 29 points.
The Nets, who just came off an overtime win Saturday night vs the Miami Heat, looked to steal another game and tie the season series vs the Detroit Pistons. But the Pistons wanted none of the Nets comeback as they take down Brooklyn 108-96
Before coming into tonight’s game, the Pistons had won their last 4 games and 6 of their last 7. Even though they received the bad news that Blake Griffin would be out for at least a week with an injury, they were still coming into Brooklyn with full confidence.
The Nets started the game hot offensively as they took an early 11-7 lead to put them up 4. But they would end up losing this lead because of a hot starting Stanley Johnson and Ish Smith. Jarrett Allen and Rondae Hollis-Jefferson came out firing on all cylinders as Allen and Hollis-Jefferson combined for 11 of their 28 first quarter points.
On the other side the Reggie Jackson did not start off the game all to well as he had two early turnovers in the first 1:30 of the game; which lead to four Nets points. Things would get better for Jackson as he would finish off the first quarter with four points and one assist.
As for the rest of the team Stanley Johnson, Ish Smith, and Luke Kennard helped the Pistons score on the offensive end as they combined for 21 of the 33 first quarter points. Andre Drummond had an early six rebounds; but would have to go to the bench early with two quick fouls in the first.
The Pistons defense picked up in the second quarter. The Nets only scored 20 points in the second quarter by good defense. Brooklyn only made four 3 point makes in that first half; but three 3 pointers in the second quarter.
The Pistons would take a commanding 62 to 48 lead at the half. Ish Smith seemed unstoppable in the first half. He had 17 points and was 7-7 from the field including two three pointers; but he would finish off the game with the same amount of points and only one field goal attempt the rest of the way.
The Pistons second half was even better as they took their largest lead of 20 points; but that lead would slowly shrink away as the Nets hot 3 point shooting would bring them back into the game.
With 18 seconds left in the 3rd quarter Andre Drummond and Quincy Acy were going after a rebound. This lead to an altercation which escalated into Drummond shoving Acy. Acy would respond by going at Drummond by pushing away two referees but accidentally struck one of the refs in the face. Both players were tossed from the game. This was big for the Nets as they were only down 13 points with a whole quarter to play.

This would be huge for Eric Moreland, who would have to finish the rest of the game with the starters.
The Pistons were able to fight off the Nets comeback. Brooklyn got within 6 points with 2:38 left in the game; but Reggie Jackson was fouled at the 3 on the next possession which sealed the game.
Reggie Jackson finished the game by playing the whole 4th quarter. He finished the game with 29 points 4 rebounds 3 assists in 31 minutes; but also committed 5 turnovers.
Stanley was smooth tonight. He finished the game with 17 points 4 rebounds 4 assists and 4 steals.
Eric Moreland provided a ton of energy and hustle off the bench as he finished the game with 4 points 10 rebounds 3 assists 1 steal and 2 blocks.
Andre Drummond would finish off the game with 13 points and 14 points, but the ejection almost costed the team.
