Detroit Pistons

The Detroit Pistons are still without a head coach. Milwaukee just hired Mike Budenholzer. A few teams have hired new coaches. I’m growing restless.

The Detroit Pistons will continue their head coaching search with one less candidate on the board.

Mike Budenholzer was recently named the next head coach of the Milwaukee Bucks. He takes on a roster that has the likes of Giannis Antetokounmpo, Eric Bledsoe, and Khris Middleton.

Remember that last name? It makes me cringe to see what Middleton has turned into since leaving Detroit and getting a better opportunity.

Let’s get back on track. Many NBA teams that had vacancies have hired new head coaches recently.

The Charlotte Hornets have hired James Borrego. The New York Knicks have hired David Fizdale. The Atlanta Hawks have hired Lloyd Pierce.

The list goes on. Do you know which one keeps shrinking? Possible candidates. It’s hard to say if the best one has already been taken.

I do know this. The longer the Detroit Pistons wait, the harder it’s going to be on getting a plan ready for what direction this organization is going to take.

Are they going to rebuild? Are they going to make another run at competing? Who knows.

The more notable head coaching candidates left are Dwane Casey and David Blatt. It wouldn’t surprise me to see Detroit go after one of these two.

The Pistons haven’t spoke publicly about the future of their general manager position. Jeff Bower is under contract until June 30 and will continue his duties until told otherwise.

They need a President of basketball operations as well.

My head hurts. This organization makes my head hurt. The Detroit Pistons have major holes to fill and we’re just over a month from draft day.

It’s like staring at a dead body on an operating table. Can we see some sign of life? A pulse? It’s really not much to ask for.
