The Detroit Pistons add the final assistant to Dwane Casey’s coaching staff. Now it’s time to start a new era of Pistons basketball that brings excitement.

Today, the Detroit Pistons hired the final assistant to their coaching staff. They’ve brought on former Denver Nuggets assistant coach Micah Nori.

Nori is yet another familiar face to front office senior adviser Ed Stefanski. This seems to be the continued trend among some of the others that have been hired.

Head coach Dwane Casey now has a full staff and it’s time to turn to a new chapter with the Detroit Pistons. Here’s a little bit of information on Nori.

Background on Micah Nori

Nori has spent a lot of time in the NBA and has been with multiple franchises. He’s been with the Nuggets, the Toronto Raptors, and the Sacramento Kings.

Nori was in Toronto when Stefanski and Casey were both there. He spent 15 seasons with the Toronto Raptors. In his time there, he was both an assistant coach and in charge of scouting.

Getting into basketball didn’t seem like a very clear path for Nori. According to the official site of the NBA, he had a very successful career in baseball.

"“As a Hoosier, Nori was a four-year starter and captain of the 1996 Big Ten Championship team. He finished his career with a .305 batting average and 127 RBIs, ranking in the top-20 in IU annals in several offensive categories.”"

Nori brings a very unique and experienced background to the Detroit Pistons organization.

A new chapter for the Detroit Pistons

Casey and his assistants have been assigned a challenging task. They’re now apart of an organization that’s in a city known for thriving on hard work and rising from the ashes.

With the Detroit Pistons, it’s time to do just that. Casey, the assistants, and the front office are in charge of an organization that seems to have lacked the same elbow grease it had over a decade ago. It’s also time for the Pistons to rise from the mediocrity they’ve been stuck in for a while.

The pieces are in place. The Detroit Pistons now have a star on their roster with Blake Griffin. They have a rising star in Andre Drummond. The Pistons also have a young core that needs to be molded the right way.

This new chapter for the Detroit Pistons can be a great one with the right amount of work and dedication from the coaching staff, the front office, and the players.
