The Detroit Pistons have had a lot of great moments as an NBA franchise. What is your favorite moment as a fan of this organization?

The last decade hasn’t been something to be proud of if you’re a fan of the Detroit Pistons. They have lost a ton of games and have only appeared in the playoffs twice since 2009.

This organization still has a rich tradition that reaches an older generation of fans as well as the younger generation of fans.

Many remember the bad boys era with Isiah Thomas and Joe Dumars. That group changed the way people looked at the game of basketball because of their physical style of play.

The term “goin’ to work” was used to describe the early 2000’s of Detroit basketball. That group was one of the more unique championship teams.

As a fan, there has to be a favorite moment that made you proud of this organization. What is it?

My favorite moment as Detroit Piston fan

The “goin’ to work” era was when I was growing up and just starting to get into basketball. This team still holds a special place in my heart. Many people were huge fans of Chauncey Billups and Ben Wallace from that team.

My favorite Piston from that era was Tayshaun Prince. I think I liked him the most because of what he was able to do as an all-around player. He could get the team a bucket in crunch time and lock down the opposing team’s best scoring option.

My favorite moment happens to involve Prince and the 2004 NBA title run.

The score of that game is humorous. There’s no way you would a 69-67 ball game in the final minute of a game in today’s NBA.

Prince stunned the home crowd in Indianapolis as well as Reggie Miller. This was the definition of what this team was. Hustle and defense.

More importantly, Prince’s block helped the Pistons hold on to tie up the series. The Pistons never looked back after this. As a kid, the moment made it feel like winning a championship wasn’t out of reach. This is a play I still cling to as a fan.
