Can the Pistons do it?

There are reasons for the Detroit Pistons to be optimistic about securing a top-four seed. They’ll hopefully get a full season from the triple threat of Reggie Jackson, Blake Griffin, and Andre Drummond.

Detroit went 27-18 with Jackson in the lineup last year, and 12-25 without him. Glenn Robinson III was a big free-agent addition, and he looked particularly sharp in the team’s first open scrimmage.

Add in the expected growth from former first-round picks Luke Kennard and Stanley Johnson, and you have a team that could live up to Griffin’s expectations.

Moving up into the playoff picture should be expected this year from the Pistons. Owning home-court advantage is the potential, best-case scenario.
