The Detroit Pistons look to bounce back tonight against the Washington Wizards. Their offense has struggled over the last two games.

The Detroit Pistons are sitting at 1-2 in the preseason. They’re back in action tonight against the Washington Wizards. They lost their last preseason game 110-108 in overtime to the Brooklyn Nets.

The Pistons have just one more preseason game after tonight. Their biggest concern as of now? It should be the offense.

In their last game, Detroit could not catch a break in the first quarter. A lot of misses and the inability to find openings was the recurring problem in that game.

light. Related Story. Three takeaways: Detroit Pistons vs. Brooklyn Nets

The Pistons shot just 36 percent from the field as a team against the Brooklyn Nets. They shot 34 percent from the field against the San Antonio Spurs in the game before that.

What’s wrong with the offense? It’s a puzzling question.

I think part of it has to do with the fact that there’s a new coaching staff in place that’s emphasizing new goals. Head coach Dwane Casey has talked about how he wants his team to be taking more three-point attempts and more shots around the basket.

The three-point attempts just haven’t been falling yet. As much as it might concern fans, there’s one thing to remember. It’s still just the preseason.

Reggie Bullock is shooting just 35 percent from deep as of now. We all know that will change once he gets comfortable. Bullock shot over 44 percent from three-point range last season.

Casey has also talked about testing out different lineups to make sure everyone is, “ready” in different situations after the first day of training camp. I’d rather see this type of play right now and have this time be used to tinker with the players they have.

Until the Detroit Pistons are ten games into the regular season and struggling this much, I’m not going to worry. Neither should you.

As for the Washington Wizards, they are 2-1 to this point in the preseason. This will be a chance to get a good look at a team that the Pistons will be close in the standings with for the entire season.

We know how good Washington’s back court is between John Wall and Bradley Beal. The biggest factor for this team going into the new campaign is finding a couple others that will give them valuable minutes on the floor.

Casey and the Pistons will also get their first look at the Wizards’ first-round draft pick Troy Brown. He was selected by Washington with the 15th overall pick in the 2018 draft.

Tip-off is tonight at 7 p.m. at Little Caesar’s Arena in downtown Detroit.
