Detroit Pistons: Five regular season games to mark on the calendar
By Travis Gibbs
February 13 at Boston Celtics
The Boston Celtics are a team that has had the best of the Detroit Pistons. Over the last two seasons, they have beat Detroit in five out of their last seven meetings.
The Celtics were the number two seed in the eastern conference headed into the postseason last year. That was without both Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward.
I think that speaks to how good of a team and coaching they have. Brad Stevens led them to the eastern conference finals without their two best players.
They come back this season as one of the favorites to win the east once again. Just like with Philadelphia, the Pistons will have to compete against teams like Boston.
They certainly don’t want to meet them in the first round of the playoffs. That spells trouble and an early exit if that were to happen.
Getting a win over a team like the Celtics right before the All-Star break can be great for a team’s confidence right before hitting the home stretch of the season.
