Game day information thread: Detroit Pistons vs. Philadelphia 76ers
By Travis Gibbs
The Philadelphia 76ers come to Little Caesar’s Arena tonight to challenge the Detroit Pistons and their undefeated record. Here’s what you need to know before tip-off.
The Detroit Pistons face their biggest test of the season to this point tonight at Little Caesar’s arena. They take on the Philadelphia 76ers who are 2-1 on the young season.
Their only loss is from the Boston Celtics on opening night. Their two wins are against the Chicago Bulls and the Orlando Magic. They beat the Magic 116-115 in their last game.
Joel Embiid scored 32 points and had ten rebounds to lead his team. He will definitely be a player to keep an eye on in this one. Pistons center Andre Drummond will have his hands full.
The Sixers are loaded once again this season. Ben Simmons, J.J. Reddick, and Robert Covington all play key roles on this team and can hurt you on any given night.
They certainly had no issues beating up on the Detroit Pistons a year ago. They won all four match-ups the two teams had last season.
Injury Report
The 76ers come into this game with some of their players injured. They could be without their starting point guard Ben Simmons (doubtful) for tonight’s game due to a back injury. Markelle Fultz would start in his place.
Sixers forward/center Mike Muscala is questionable for tonight’s game as well. Wilson Chandler and Jerryd Bayless will be out for tonight’s game.
The Detroit Pistons are fortunate enough to have a completely healthy roster as of right now. There was a chance that Andre Drummond might not play in tonight’s game due to the flu.
It was something that kept Pistons guard Reggie Bullock out of their season opener.
