Game day information thread: Detroit Pistons vs. Philadelphia 76ers
By Travis Gibbs
On Saturday, the Detroit Pistons look to get back to their winning ways on the road against the Philadelphia 76ers. They’ve lost three straight.
The Detroit Pistons beat the Philadelphia 76ers in their first meeting of the season. Let’s just say it did not disappoint. The game went back and forth down to the wire and even ended up going to overtime.
The Pistons prevailed 133-132 in that game. One of their players was able to silence his critics with an unforgettable performance.
Blake Griffin had a career night. He scored 50 points, had 14 rebounds and six assists. Joel Embiid had 33 points and 11 rebounds.
Of course, there were fireworks between Embiid and Pistons center Andre Drummond. These two have bad blood and it tends to spill over on the court every time they meet.
Embiid flopped on a play that ended up getting Drummond ejected. He was later warned by the league as the NBA is trying to end this type of play.
The Sixers were without starting point guard Ben Simmons in this game. He will be playing today. Let’s take a look at the injury report for both teams.
Injury Report
The Detroit Pistons have been without shooting guard Luke Kennard for a little over a week now due to a shoulder injury. They recently lost another shooting guard to an injury.
Reggie Bullock sprained his ankle on Halloween night against the Brooklyn Nets and is listed as doubtful for today’s game.
The Sixers are looking at a couple injuries as well. Wilson Chandler is listed as questionable for today’s game because of a hamstring issue. They will likely be without guard Jerryd Bayless as well. He’s been sidelined with a knee injury for quite some time.
