The Detroit Pistons have a chance to get back above .500 with a win tonight against the Atlanta Hawks. Here’s what you need to know before tip-off.

The Detroit Pistons are looking to build off of their 103-96 against the Orlando Magic on Wednesday night. Before that, they lost five straight games.

Tonight, they continue their short road trip against the Atlanta Hawks before returning home against the Charlotte Hornets.

The Pistons are 5-5 through their first ten games of the season. Tonight is a good opportunity to get back over that .500 mark.

This game is much like their last one in Orlando. The two teams are very similar in where they are right now as far as talent and progression.

Teams like Orlando and Atlanta are building for the future rather than competing now. The Pistons have to consistently turn these types of games into wins if they want to be back in the postseason.

The Hawks are just 3-8 this season and have lost six out of their last seven games. Rookie Trae Young is currently leading the Hawks in points per game (18.6) and assists per game (8.1).

Atlanta goes as he goes.

Last season, the Detroit Pistons took advantage of their games against Atlanta. They won three out of their meetings with the Hawks. Detroit looks to continue that success tonight.

Injury Report

The Detroit Pistons have dealt with some injury problems early on this season. They were without their two best shooters at one point.

Luke Kennard injured his shoulder in their fourth game of the season. He’s looking at likely being back in December some time.

Reggie Bullock battled a flu and an ankle sprain but has been back in the lineup for a couple of games now. It’s obvious that he’s still not at full strength.

The Hawks mainly have a healthy roster as of now. Forward John Collins is the only player out with injury right now. He’s finally back on the court doing drills.

Kevin Huerter was on the injury report for personal reasons and didn’t play in their last game. He’s no longer on the report so that likely means he will be back in the lineup tonight.
