The Detroit Pistons are currently fourth in the eastern conference after five straight wins. Is this team a legitimate threat?

The Detroit Pistons are flying high off of a 111-102 victory against the Golden State Warriors. They’ve now won seven out of their last eight games and are sitting comfortably with a 13-7 record.

Do you see them as a threat in the eastern conference?

It’s easy to say this isn’t the same team we saw on the court a little over a month ago. There’s something to be said about how they look much more like a team.

Dwane Casey deserves all of the credit for that. He’s putting guys in situations to succeed when they’re on the floor.

There’s a number of players that many people had questions about coming into the season. A couple examples of that would be Stanley Johnson and Langston Galloway.

More. There's something different about these Detroit Pistons. light

Both put in very good minutes during the month of November.

Those two are a big reason why the Pistons can rely on their reserve group when they need to.

Andre Drummond is having a career year in terms of points per game(18.6) and rebounds (16.4). He’s already had six games where he’s recorded at least 20 points and 20 rebounds.

Blake Griffin has looked like an MVP at times this season. His ability to score, set up his teammates and even get his own rebounds with a guy like Drummond on the floor is very impressive as well.

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the only other player in the league averaging at least 24 points, nine rebounds and five assists per game. That speaks to how complete of a player he’s become with the Detroit Pistons.

Reggie Jackson is finally starting to gain traction as well. Over his last five games, he’s shooting 42 percent from three-point range and averaging 19.8 points per game.

Health as been a big key for this team. Luke Kennard has been the only player to be out for an extended period of time.

He did a rehab start with Detroit’s G-League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive on Friday and already has been called back up.

Yes, a red-hot Pistons team adding another dynamic shooter to their rotation. This could be bad news for their upcoming opponents.

The Pistons have handled their business through their first 20 games. Now, the schedule gets tougher. However, this team is playing the right brand of basketball going into it.

Fans, can the Pistons challenge the likes of Philadelphia, Toronto, or Milwaukee?

All three of those teams look like they’ve hit their stride as well. We can’t forget about Boston who has struggle for the first quarter of the season.

The Indiana Pacers will make a case as the season goes along as well.

Is this type of play temporary from the Detroit Pistons? Or is this something you see continuing as the season progresses?

Next. Luke Kennard’s return will help Detroit Pistons take next step. dark
