The Detroit Pistons were left stunned after a 125-88 loss to the Indiana Pacers. Coach Dwane Casey apologized to the fans after this one. Ouch!

There’s one word to sum up Friday night’s game between the Detroit Pistons and the Indiana Pacers.

Well, there’s many words that could be used to describe what happened. I’m going with ugly.

The Pistons were dismantled by a Pacers team that flat-out dominated from start to finish. Everyone was frustrated.

When you get beat by 37 points, that tends to bring out the ugly in a team. It sure brought out the ugly in the Pistons.

Zaza Pachulia was given a technical foul late in the game. Blake Griffin‘s argument with an official over a missed call forced him to dig up evidence on a iPad while he was sitting on the bench.

Yes, this might have been the most entertaining footage of the night for Pistons fans.

Dwane Casey usually carries a pretty cool, collective demeanor. He’s not one to lose his temper and scream as a coach.

However, his press conference following this game said it all about how he was feeling.

He starts off his postgame press conference by apologizing to the fans of the Detroit Pistons. Casey calls out everyone for this forgettable performance, including himself.

The Detroit Pistons have been forced into a tough schedule here in the month of December with a lot of good teams in that stretch.

When it comes down to it, they’ve been outmatched with talent. However, Casey says in his press conference that it goes further than that.

"“We can talk about talent all you want. Talent doesn’t win in this league alone. You have to have the grit and togetherness.”"

There was none of that on display in this game. There really hasn’t been any of that on display for the last four weeks which is why the Detroit Pistons are in the position they’re in.

They’re 16-17 on the season and are now just the eighth seed in the east. The Brooklyn Nets are just one game behind Detroit for that final playoff spot as well.

When your head coach has to come out and apologize for a team’s performance, you know things are bad. Is this rock bottom? As a fan, I certainly hope it doesn’t get much worse than this.
