The Detroit Pistons got dominated by the Sacramento Kings without Blake Griffin. This moves their losing streak four games.

The Detroit Pistons had to play this game without their superstar Blake Griffin.

Griffin needs some rest if he’s going to be able to continue to carry the load he’s been carrying.

And the idea of seeing this team without Griffin on offense is a decent idea, to see how this team reacts and plays without their best player.

That is, until it actually happened.

The Detroit Pistons got dominated from start to finish by the Sacramento Kings in a 112-102 loss. This loss will move the Pistons to 17-23 and raise their losing streak to four games.

Dwane Casey started a lineup of Reggie Jackson, Bruce Brown, Reggie Bullock, Luke Kennard, and Andre Drummond.

Casey decided to use a one big and four guard lineup, and just surrounded Drummond with shooting. The plan, of course, would be to drop bombs from deep and out shoot your opponent. If you miss, you have the best rebounder in the league to swallow your misses.

Unfortunately, but predictably, this did not work at all.

The Pistons shot 11-38 from deep and Drummond was held to only one offensive rebound. With not a single other inside presence, the Kings sold out completely on Drummond and had multiple bodies on him at all times.

The Detroit Pistons were led in scoring by Stanley Johnson, who came off the bench, with 16 points on 5-10 shooting.

Drummond ended with 12 points and 11 rebounds, but had seven turnovers to go with only two assists.

The Kings had a balance attack on offense, getting seven players in double figure scoring.

If the Detroit Pistons don’t get some wins together soon, their season will be over. Without Griffin, they’ve shown to be incapable of producing any type of offense; not like they’re really a part of a good offense with Griffin in the lineup anyways.
