After a brutal four game western road trip, the Detroit Pistons finally return to Little Caesars Arena to host the Orlando Magic in a crucial playoff contending game.
Coming into tonight, the Pistons sit as the 10th seed in the Eastern Conference. The Magic are a half game ahead of the Pistons in the 9th seed.
Orlando is coming off an impressive two game win streak. They had an impressive fourth quarter comeback win against the Boston Celtics. And they also had a fourth quarter comeback win against a surging James Harden and the Houston Rockets.
Detroit on the other hand are losers in 3 of their last 4 games. Their recent heartbreaking defeat against Utah saw Joe Ingles hit the dagger 3 to ice the game. They look to turn things around and make a push for the 8th seed in the Eastern Conference.
This is the third meeting of four between these two teams. The Detroit Pistons won the first meeting in a 103-96 ending. Andre Drummond was a huge force that game as he was one rebound short of a 20 point, 20 rebound game.
On the other hand, the Magic won the second meeting in a 109-107 ending. Evan Fournier hit the game winning shot that sent Detroit stinking of a loss going into 2019.
D.J. Augustin, Nikola Vucevic, and Aaron Gordon all came up huge that game. They each scored 20 points and combined for almost 60 percent shooting.
Both teams are going to come in tonight looking for a win. A win tonight can give either team an advantage going into the fourth and final meeting between each other.
