Keys to the game.

  1. Let Damian Lillard beat you. Lillard went off on the Pistons last meeting. But he also helped his team contribute to the win. The Pistons have to force him to take shots he does not want to take. Bruce Brown absolutely got cooked in the first meeting. Lillard gave him the “welcome to the NBA rookie” treatment. Now with film study and experience guarding him, Bruce can figure out a way to play solid defense on him.
  2. Control the glass. The Blazers are without Nurkic after suffering a gruesome leg injury. Andre Drummond can fully take advantage of the Blazers with their loss. Enes Kanter is a great rebounding center. But his inability to play good defense will surely cost the Blazers a ton of points in the paint. The Pistons could run pick and roll all game and succeed at it. Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson should have no problems forcing their way inside.
  3. The Pistons bench versus the Blazers bench. The Pistons bench has to show up tonight. The Blazers bench outplayed the Pistons bench in their last outing. Luke Kennard and Langston Galloway have to show that they are capable of shooting the lights out when they are wide open. Ish Smith has to put pressure on Seth Curry. And Thon Maker has to continue to show that he is an important piece to the bench.
