The NCAA March Madness Tournament had just recently finished. Last season Virginia became the first team in NCAA history to lose against a 16th seed. To the NCAA Champions in 2019 with their win against Texas Tech.

This inspired many NBA Twitter fanbases to create their own tournament; including the Pistons with fans and writers.

This included all of the beat writers for the Pistons like Vincent Ellis of The Detroit Free Press, Rod Beard of The Detroit News, and James Edwards III of The Athletic..

Not only did it include those guys. But it also included some of PistonPowered‘s past and present contributors and Site-Experts. And not to mention the PistonPowered Twitter account!

Overall three past and present contributors and Site-Experts for PistonPowered advanced to the elite 8. And our very own contributor Joe Truck was able to win it all against former Site Expert Duncan Smith.

The fun in the tournament came from the upsets and clever ways the competitors were able to get people to vote for them. Like clever edited photos of tweets that never actually happened. Here is one that I personally created that was one of my favorites.

A fun tournament that brought Pistons fans together and helped drift our minds away from basketball a week was a good change. Be sure to follow all of these Pistons fans who were in the tournament!
