With the season coming to an end, the Pistons still have not clinched a playoff spot. They are going to figure out whether they clinch a playoff spot or not on the last day of the NBA season. They control their own fate. If they win both final games of the season; they are in.
But there was a lot of confusion to how many different scenarios the Pistons have if they are in or not. And tiebreakers made things even more confusing due to the fact that three-way tiebreakers don’t work the same way as two-way tiebreakers.
Pistons OUT

Charlotte 2-0, Detroit 1-1, Orlando 0-2, Miami 2-0
Charlotte 2-0, Detroit 1-1(or 0-2)
Charlotte 1-1, Detroit 0-2
Charlotte 2-0, Detroit 1-1, Miami 2-0
If Detroit, Charlotte and Orlando all finish 40-40, Pistons are out. Orlando gets 3-way tiebreaker for winning division, Charlotte has it over Detroit H2H

Even James Edwards III of The Athletic was confused about the tiebreakers.
Pretty sure Charlotte wins the division.

The Twitter user @THE_FERNANTULA has every scenario for the Pistons locked down.
Situation is pretty simple now.

DET IN @ 2-0
IN @ 1-1 with ORL win vs CHA
OUT @ 1-1, with CHA going 2-0
It’s going to be interesting last few days of the season for the Pistons.
