Ball-Handling

This may be the most important skill the Detroit Pistons need Brown to improve upon.

If this team stayed the same, of course, it would be his outside shot they’d like the most improvement on. However, this team is not going to be the same.

Specifically, Ish Smith.

Smith is free agent entering this summer, and it’s looking more and more likely that Smith will not be returning to the Detroit Pistons. Which means the Pistons will be in the need of a new backup point guard.

And if you were watching the Pistons season at all this season, you should know about what happened when the Pistons had to deal with a terrible backup point guard (Bye, Jose).

The Pistons are in cap hell and don’t have much wiggle room at all to fix all its roster issues. The deficiency on the wing is by far the Detroit Pistons biggest issue, so any and all money needs to be spent on that position.

Dwane Casey said at the beginning of the season that he saw point guard in Bruce Brown’s future. Even during the season, Brown exhibited some nice passing vision and a cool sense of control with the ball in his hands.

This pass from Brown took some incredible IQ and passing vision. There are some 5-year pros in the NBA who would stumble and make the dumb pass to this corner.

Brown reads the defenses rotations and makes the correct pass that you don’t see many rookies make.

Next. How about we don't trade Andre Drummond?. dark

If Brown can save the Pistons money by having their backup point guard replacement already on the roster, it would game changing.
