T.J. Warren!

The Detroit Pistons desperately need a wing player that can just go out there and get buckets. This season they ran Stanley Johnson and Reggie Bullock at the three spot. Those two players would eventually get traded before the deadline.

They were forced to run Luke Kennard, Wayne Ellington, and occasionally Glenn Robinson III at the three. This didn’t work out too well for the Pistons. Kennard and Ellington are both smaller wing players. And Robinson III was awful for the Pistons.

T.J. Warren signed a 4-year 50 million dollar contract extension with the Phoenix Suns in the 2017 off-season. He currently just finished the first of the four years by averaging 18 points and 4 rebounds on 48.6 percent shooting from the field and a career high 42.8 percent from three on 4.2 attempts a night.

Warren was never known for his three-point shooting. In fact, prior to this season, he shot an average of 28.3 percent from three in 4 seasons.

Although this season T.J. Warren missed 39 games due to an ankle injury that sidelined him January 22nd against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Warren can bring immediate scoring to ease Blake Griffin and Reggie Jackson’s roles in that department. His new and improved three-point shooting could entice the Pistons to make an offer for him.

Phoenix could look to get rid of his contract. He is still owed 35 million dollars and some change total in the next 3 seasons.

The Pistons could offer salary cap relief by the end of next season; offering Jon Leuer and their 15th overall pick in this year’s NBA Draft.
