Detroit Pistons superstar Blake Griffin made All-NBA third team today but his partner in crime, Andre Drummond, didn’t make the cut.

The Detroit Pistons were glad to have Blake Griffin represent them on the All-NBA teams, as he made the third team next to LeBron James.

This was the Pistons first All-NBA member since Andre Drummond made the third team back in 2016.

Hey, what about that guy Drummond? Well, our guy Andre didn’t make the cut this year in what was arguably the best season of his career.

To be fair, I’m not sure we can really say he was snubbed. Drummond was absolutely fantastic this year (some may even say ELITE), but the center position this year was quite deep.

Nikola Jokic made the All-NBA first team, Joel Embiid was on the second team, and Rudy Gobert rounded it out on the third team. It’s almost impossible to argue Drummond over Jokic and Embiid, but Gobert you’d have a better shot at.

Gobert is the best big man defender in the entire league on a team that made the playoffs, so it was probably the right pick.

Karl-Anthony Towns had 20 third place votes, so he was by the voting system would’ve made the team after Gobert. Towns put up 24.4 points, 12.4 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 1.6 blocks a game this season. Some monster numbers, but the case you could make for Drummond over him would be Drummond’s team made the playoffs while Towns team was pretty bad.

Drummond did receive one vote for the All-NBA second team resulting in three points, but that is it.

Drummond shouldn’t be feeling down about his season this year because he missed the All-NBA cut. He had a great season putting up a career-high 17.3 points, 15.6 rebounds, 1.4 assists, 1.7 steals, and 1.7 blocks per game. He was the only player in the top 10 in both total steals and blocks this season.

Sucks to see Drummond miss the All-NBA cut, but this season was spectacular for him. He gave us every reason this year to believe he will be on some All-NBA teams in the future.
