Thaddeus Young to the Indiana Pacers!

The Orlando Magic wasn’t the only team that made a trade in the 2016 draft. The Indiana Pacers had rights to the 20th overall pick.

But with the team’s unwillingness to develop a young player, they were on the market to bring in a veteran player to please Paul George.

The Pacers would trade the 20th overall pick to the Brooklyn Nets for Thaddeus Young. Although bouncing around the league for a couple of seasons, Young has been a reliable rotation player. And trading the 20th pick for him was probably the best you can ask for.

The Nets would draft wing forward Caris LeVert. The Nets needed any young player they could get. They were stuck in no-mans land without having their first round pick.

LeVert would not much of anything special in his first season. But his second and third season would show plenty of potential to become a great starter. He would start off the 2018-19 season by averaging 18.4 points per game, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.7 assists on 47.5 percent shooting in 14 games played. But he would go down with an injury that would sideline him for 42 games of the season.

Thaddeus Young would become an immediate impact player for the Pacers. He has started every game he has played with the Pacers. With the Pacers he’s averaged 11.8 points per game, 6.3 rebounds, and 1.6 steals on 51.3 percent from the field.

He’s also helped the team make the playoffs for the second consecutive season since trading away Paul George.
