The Raptors overpowered the Warriors in the paint with the likes of Serge Ibaka and Marc Gasol. Golden State struggled all year to work DeMarcus Cousins into the lineup after his injuries, and their promising young center Kevon Looney fought through injury throughout the Finals.
The Warriors signed Looney to a three-year, $15 million contract this offseason. Cousins is signing a one-year deal with the Los Angeles Lakers.
Looney became a reliable option at center, but he is the first at the position the team seems to have wanted to stick around during their recent Finals runs.
Andrew Bogut, Zaza Pachulia, JaVale McGee, all came and went but the Warriors at full-strength, especially before the departure of Durant, did not make the center position a priority.
