DETROIT, MI – APRIL 22: Langston Galloway #9 of the Detroit Pistons reacts to a play against the Milwaukee Bucks during Game Four of Round One of the 2019 NBA Playoffs on April 22, 2019 at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit, Michigan. Langston Galloway

Langston Galloway‘s season with the Pistons this year is a metaphor for his career overall. He had some great moments with the team this season falling one made  3-pointer short of tying the Detroit Pistons record for most consecutive 3-pointers made in a row, as well as shooting 46 percent on 4.9 three point attempts per game in the month of March. He also had some poor moments shooting just 14 percent on 3.5 three point attempts per game in the month of October.

Galloway struggled to find consistency and had a roller coaster of a season. Some weeks it seemed like he would not be able to miss a shot if he tried and then other weeks he would be unable to throw a beach ball into the ocean. Consistency is what he lacked this season and truly has lacked his entire career.

With his contract expiring after the 2019-20 season the Pistons will likely look to move on from the streaky shooter once the season is up, electing to replace his production with a more consistent scorer and defender.

Galloway’s best game of the season came vs Miami when he put up 21 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 steals shooting 7-of-15 from the field and 3-of-5 from three point territory. While Galloway usually does not provide much for the team if he is not putting the ball in the hoop, this game was different with Galloway really stuffing the stat sheet on top of efficient shooting.
