Stanley Johnson

While nobody could ever question Stanley Johnson‘s effort or his defense, highlighted by his masterful play against Kawhi Leonard in the fourth quarter this season.

Johnson’s offensive game left much to be desired and was ultimately the thing that made the front office send him packing. Before he was traded near the all star break Johnson did put together some solid games, arguably the best one being the 22-point, 7-rebound, 2-assist, and 3-steal performance he put up against the Hawks.

Pistons fans sorely wish that Johnson was able to put together more complete performances during his Pistons tenure such as this one. If Johnson were able to score consistently on a nightly basis there is no question that with his elite level defense the Pistons would have resigned him. Unfortunately Johnson did not show enough to prove he was worth resigning and the Pistons traded him for another high upside talent in Thon Maker.
