Glen Robinson III

Glenn Robinson III was a major disappointment this season. A former dunk contest champion with the Pacers who put up good shooting percentages in a limited sample size with his former team (39 percent on 3-pointers with 1.4 attempts per game in three seasons).

Before the season began, Robinson looked as a guy that was not given the proper opportunity to showcase his talents and would push for a starting role with the Pistons in the 2018-19 season. Robinson is a prototypical modern NBA wing with his 6-foot-6, 222-pound frame and his 41.5 inch max vertical leap.

I assumed with increased minutes that Robinson’s shooting percentages would even out to at minimum to league average and by the end of the season Robinson would be the regular starter at the small forward spot.

Boy was I wrong.

Robinson ended up shooting 29 percent on 3-pointers this season and was not even able to get a regular spot in the rotation. It’s truly a shame given how much potential and opportunity Robinson had with the Pistons this season. Robinson played so poorly that the Pistons opted to decline his team option for the 2019-20 season and he will no longer be a part of the team.

His best game of the season came against the Miami Heat when he put up 16 points, 2 rebounds, 2 blocks, and 1 steal.

Best Game of Season:

  • 11/05/2018 vs MIA – 16 points / 2 rebounds / 2 blocks / 1 steal (6/12 field goals; 2/4 three pointers; 2/2 free throws)

Other Notable Performances:

11/09/2018 vs ATL – 12 points / 1 rebounds / 2 assists / 1 steal (4/7 field goals; 2/4 three pointers; 2/2 free throws)

04/10/2019 vs NYK – 9 points / 9 rebounds / 2 assists / 1 block / 1 steal (4/7 field goals; 1/3 three pointers)
