Three-point shooting

The most important thing that Snell will bring to the Pistons’ this season is his accurate 3-point shooting. Snell hit 38 percent from 3-point land in his career and that will be huge for the Pistons. The season before they were ranked sixth in the NBA in 3-point attempts per game (34.8 per game), however hit only 35 percent of them which was ranked 23rd in the league in accuracy.

For Snell’s last three seasons he has shot a scorching hot 40 percent on his 3-point attempts, so Snell could be considered amongst the league’s top marksmen.

Snell is a player who takes almost all of of his shots from beyond the arc and outside of that, offensively, won’t do much else. Out of his 388 field goal attempts of the 2018-19 season, 251 of those shots were 3-pointers. Of those attempts, 88.5 percent of them were off of assists, so do not expect Snell to be creating any of his own offense.

Snell’s offense will come mainly from running the 3-point arc and waiting for his teammates to kick the ball out to him. If he can play his role well that is all the Pistons will need from him.
