2. Luke oops Thon

March 17, 2019

Final Score: Pistons 110, Raptors 107

We know Luke Kennard can shoot, we know Thon Maker can throw it down, but put these two on the break together and you get a magic show.

Kennard was a shining star for us last year, one of our most consistent 3-point shooters, and overall scorers for mostly coming off the bench this past season, his offseason work the previous summer was evident.

This past season Kennard continued to display that beautiful shooting stroke, and the ability to play make, and even play a little point guard in Dwane Casey’s system. He had impressive games where he took over such as the game against Cleveland on March 3rd, 2019 where he put up 26 points, and six three’s, and these were no regular, feet behind the line three’s. Kennard was showing the world that he had Stephen Curry range with that beautiful left handed stroke.

In another game last year against the 76ers, he put up another great stat line of 28 points and 8 rebounds back on December 12th, 2018.

Kennard is another Pistons star in the making. On this clip here coming in at number two on our Top 10, Kennard displays his court vision, and shows he has eyes in the back of his head tossing an alley-oop to Pistons backup center Thon Maker who then soars in for the two-handed flush.

This play erupted the crowd, and was on highlights on every major sports network for weeks to come. This play also came with a win against the now NBA champion Toronto Raptors, who we eventually ended sweeping the regular season series against going 3-0.

Expect more plays like this from our crafty two-guard off the bench next season, and with improved confidence and game, he’s is sure to have another breakout year along with his lob partner Thon Maker.

Kennard finished this game with a stat line of 2 points, 3 assists and 1 rebound.

Maker walked away with 7 points, 2 blocks, and 3 rebounds, with one dynamite alley-oop finish.
