4. Drummond spins AD

December 9th, 2018

Final Score: Pelicans 116, Pistons 108

Drummond may not have the best footwork or best skill set yet necessarily, but he sure gave Anthony Davis a taste of his own medicine on this beautiful play here.

Davis is a generational talent, we have seen him send shots to the rafters, hit game-winners, catch ridiculous alley-oops and be an All-NBA talent. Drummond took the challenge head on in this game, and played with a chip on his shoulder. Star big man versus star big man.

Breaking down this play, Drummond has the ball on the perimeter with the would be last shot of the quarter, he put the ball on the floor and gives Davis a quick spin move and get the monster jam.

These are the flashes we as Pistons fans like to see, Drummond taking initiative, playing aggressive, yet under control against a prolific defender in Davis. Shot clock winding down, knowing he had to make a move and he did.

Drummond finished this game with another monster stat line of 23 points and 19 rebounds, but struggled from the field, only shooting 10-for-23 from the floor. Griffin finished with another impressive game as well with 35 points.

Ultimately that wasn’t enough to stop Jrue Holiday, Julius Randle and Davis of New Orleans. Holiday ended the game 37 points and shot 6-of-10 from behind the arc. Although Drummond won the match up this night against Davis whom finished with only six points, we could not slow down the rolling duo of Randle and Jrue who combined for 65 points.
