Next steps for Jordan Bone

When you think of players who were drafted in the second round who have had success in the league, names like Isaiah Thomas, Draymond Green and Patrick Beverley come to mind. Will Jordan Bone be amongst that list in the future?

More from PistonPowered

So what’s next for the point guard? With the Summer League done, Bone will have the opportunity to play both with the Grand Rapids Drive and the Detroit Pistons, with the two-way contract that he signed.

With the Pistons guard rotation set at Reggie JacksonDerrick Rose, and Tim Frazier, Bone would most likely be the fourth option. I expect Bone to get most of his playing time with the Drive.

His game will mature in the G-League and he will get more comfortable with the game speed and learn how to be effective in the mid-court game.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Bone saw some playing time in the NBA.

He could be in a similar situation as Khyri Thomas, who was a two-way player for Detroit last season.

Bone might not play in as many NBA games as Thomas did last year, but I do think that he will see action in a few games.

Next. Does Carmelo Anthony fit with the Detroit Pistons?. dark

The Pistons really think highly of Bone and they know and understand that he is willing to do whatever it takes to help the team. That selfless attitude at a young age can be really beneficial.
