Andre Drummond told the Detroit Free Press that he’s been drinking one beer per day to hit his caloric intake goal. Here are the best reactions to the news.
Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond has a new diet, likely joining men across the country.
Drummond, who turns 26 on Saturday, is drinking one beer per day to hit his caloric intake goals, he told the Detroit Free Press’ Vince Ellis. Instead of sampling craft beer and IPA’s from around the state, he is sticking to Miller Lite because “that’s what his personal chef bought him,” Ellis said.
Beer has its benefits and multiple per day is fine as long as it’s in moderation, according to webMD. Drummond isn’t your typical human being, considering he’s a world-class athlete that is constantly working out and eating right.
"“If you do it the right way, it’s actually not bad for you and that’s why I’m doing it,” Drummond told Ellis with a laugh."
Our reaction wasn’t one out of surprise or one to be funny.
But there were plenty that were.
A few questioned the size of the beer he was drinking.
Then there’s the guy that wants to poke fun at Drummond for working to add a consistent 3-point shot to his game.
Others seem to think that Drummond is going to be one of the best players ever for his new trend.

Maybe Drummond is channeling his inner UConn Huskies days with his new diet.

If anybody can afford to do a diet like this, it’s a professional athlete. Limiting himself to Miller Lite with “Corona a close second” is interesting. One can wonder if he plans to expand his drinking game at all to the many great microbreweries around the state.
Perhaps this is where a rap battle could go down between Piston Powered writer Nick Henkel and Drummunxd before the duo could record an episode of Henkel’s popular ‘Hoops and Brews’ on Periscope.
Of all the odd things we’ve seen over the years, this one may resonate with Pistons fans the most. Which leads us to ask, what’s your advice for Drummond in beer choices?
