Frazier’s outlook
Frazier is going to be fine as a backup point guard. His IQ on the offensive end is enough to be a lead facilitator to set his teammates up. He has the ability to cut hard to free himself up, and hit 3-pointers.

The questions surrounding him are can he take a step up defensively and how consistent will he be his 3-point shot.
In reality, Frazier will see significant minutes this season and is an intriguing option to feature in a two-point guard or small-ball lineup off the bench. How quickly can he push the ball up court is something worth watching if the Pistons use a quicker lineup.
Detroit’s point guard position has more depth due to an upgrade at the backup spot with Rose but also a reliable backup in Frazier, who slides to a third string point guard role. The extra insurance is a bonus to not have to rely on a youthful point guard who may have to adjust to the speed of the NBA game.
