Detroit Pistons 2019-20 preview: Jordan Bone’s profile
Jordan Bone was selected 57th overall by the Detroit Pistons in the 2019 NBA Draft. Here’s what he brings to the Pistons in his rookie season.
If there’s one thing that the Detroit Pistons focused on in the 2019 NBA Draft, it’s athleticism. Both Jordan Bone and Sekou Doumbouya are intriguing fits with untapped potential due to their freakish athleticism.
Bone, particularly, is an intriguing prospect. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound point guard was the fastest player at the NBA Combine, measuring the fastest lane agility, shuttle run and 3/4 court run. He also leaped 42.5 inches during his vertical test.

The 21-year-old guard has great measurables and he showcased his talent during the NBA Summer League. But he turns 22 in November and is still a developmental prospect.
He’ll likely spend time between Detroit’s Gatorade League-affiliate, the Grand Rapids Drive who are coached by former Tennessee coach Donnie Tyndall, and the main club. Bone will be in good hands as both teams have great teachers in Tyndall and Dwane Casey.
Prior to being drafted, Bone spent three years at the University of Tennessee. It was somewhat of an inconsistent career across the board but he helped turnaround a program under the direction of Rick Barnes and put Volunteers basketball back on the map.
Let’s take a look at what can be learned from Bone’s college career.
