1. January 24, 2018 – OT loss at Utah

The Line: 11/17, 30 points, 24 rebounds, 6 blocks, 4 assists, 3 steals, 8/12 FT, 34.7 Game Score

Here it is. The best game played by Andre Drummond. It may be in a loss, but when I show you just how bad the other teammates were, you’ll understand how.

This game featured some of the worst shooting you’ll see in an NBA game. Pistons who were not Drummond shot 27-for-80 from the field. It’s only through the grace of Drummond’s play they were even competitive in this game. He held them in this game until the very end when even his best efforts weren’t enough. Which, seems like a pretty apt metaphor for this franchise the last seven years or more.

More from PistonPowered

He grabbed 31.9 percent of the total rebounds while he was on the floor and had a net rating of plus-46 per 100 possessions. For all of the praise that Rudy Gobert gets for being an incredible defender, he had nothing for Drummond that night. Drummond also kept Gobert under his averages for total rebound percentage, free throw rate, and true shooting percentage.

The third quarter of this game was ugly. Six made baskets for the Pistons this quarter, none of them  3-pointers. But, Drummond wasn’t going to let the Pistons go gently into that good night.

He led the charge in the fourth quarter and overtime, scoring 18 points and grabbing 13 rebounds in the two periods combined. But, alas it was not enough to steal the victory from the jaws of defeat. Utah made three 3-pointers in the first two minutes of overtime and held on to win 98-95.
