Ranking Andre Drummond’s 10 best games of career

8. Jan. 30, 2017 – Loss at Boston
The line: 12/19, 28 points, 22 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals, 3 assists, 31.4 Game Score
In what was a tightly contested game, Drummond, Ish Smith, and Tobias Harris were the lone Pistons players to shoot 50 percent or higher this game. He also played 40 minutes as both Aron Baynes and Boban Marjonovic did not play.
While Boston is a team known for it’s defense, it’s one of the teams Drummond plays the best against. Just in that 2016-17 season alone, Drummond averaged against Boston 21.3 points, 17.8 rebounds per game on 60.7 percent shooting from the field.
He didn’t have a monster fourth quarter, but instead a modest seven points. Instead Isaiah Thomas made his presence known with 24 points in the fourth quarter despite a surging Pistons team scoring 39 points in the quarter.
Poor shooting once again hurt the Pistons severely, as they were 3-for-27 from the 3-point line. Plus, 20-for-29 from the free throw line is a typical Pistons average but is also below league average. Shooting like that means that you shouldn’t be able to recover, but offensive rebounding including Drummond’s seven for the game and low turnover numbers kept this team alive in a game it had no business being in.
In the end, Drummond had a monster game, but not enough to overcome his teammate’s inability to put the ball in the hoop.
