5. Nov. 27, 2017 – Win at Boston
The line: 10/12, 26 points, 22 rebounds, 6 assists, 4 steals, 32.6 Game Score
There wasn’t much Boston could do with Drummond this game. He had as many rebounds as the entire Celtics starting lineup. Almost 40 minutes of action with a 149 Offensive Rating and a 101 Defensive Rating is about as good as it gets.
A true shooting percentage of 83.8 percent was his fourth-highest percentage on the season and he led both teams in rebounds in all four quarters. But, the most impressive part of this game was the final quarter, in which Drummond led both teams in scoring with 13.
Going into the fourth quarter with both teams tied up 86-86, Drummond didn’t check in until 8:17 left with the Pistons up by four. The first offensive possession, Drummond shows off his skill with an easy dunk. However, Boston mounted a comeback and takes the lead 100-99 with 5:46 left.
The rest of the game was dominated offensively by Drummond and Jackson, outside of one shot made by Tobias Harris, all of the Pistons points the last eight minutes of the game were from those two. In that span, Drummond hits 5-of-6 free throws and 4-for-5 from the field. The Pistons are dangerous if Drummond can hit late game free throws, and this game proved that he’s capable of doing so.
