Tony Snell- Player Option- $12.3 Million

Barring an insane season, there is almost no chance that Tony Snell will command anywhere near $12 million on the open market so I’d most definitely guess that he’d accept his option and will be a member of the Pistons for another season.

I’d expect to see a better season from Snell than what he managed in a limited role in Milwaukee in a potential starting role in the Motor City. If he can bring some of the career year that he had his first year in Milwaukee, then maybe he could get another deal here in Detroit.

The Pistons had an issue with a lack of shooting last year. This was addressed by acquiring Snell and the 30th pick from Milwaukee for the rarely used Jon Leuer. The 30th pick was flipped to Cleveland for four second-round picks that turned into Deividas Sirvydis, and Jordan Bone, leaving one pick out of the four.

Snell was offloaded for salary cap purposes but he’s still a good role player. Snell’s athleticism and length will be a real asset for Dwane Casey and the Pistons this season.
