Detroit Pistons: Analyzing Hooper’s schedule release skit games
Saturday October 26, and Monday December 23, Sixers
The Sixers had another offseason. I’m not putting an adjective there because I’m not sure what to think of it.
Philadelphia signed Al Horford and Tobias Harris to very lucrative deals, but they definitely overpaid for both of them. After agreeing to send Jimmy Butler to Miami they got a stud in return in forward Josh Richardson. The signings of Kyle O’Quinn, Raul Neto, and Trey Burke, drafting Matisse Thybulle, and re-signing Mike Scott, Shake Milton, and James Ennis III all help the Sixers’ great depth.
Signing Ben Simmons to a five-year, $170 million contract extension is another move to go all in during Philadelphia’s current championship window. The huge lineup of Simmons, Richardson, Harris, Horford, and Joel Embiid is one of the tallest in the league. With Richardson being the shortest at 6-foot- 6, the Sixers are going to be one of the top seeds in the East.
The Sixers will be more of a balanced team this season after losing Alpha-dog Jimmy Butler. The videos of Simmons hitting three’s and jump shots in the season should be terrifying to everyone in the league. If Simmons can develop a jump shot, then every member of the Sixers is a good defender who can handle the ball, pass the ball, hit three’s, and is over 6’-foot-6, that spells disaster for everybody.
Since Embiid has had Drummond’s number over the years, it’s Griffin versus the rest of the Sixers. After Griffin’s 50-point game, these are good contests so they will be good, physical games to attend. Due to Philadelphia being towards the top of the standings and the Pistons being at the end of the playoff picture based on predictions, this could be a preview of a potential playoff series.
